10 Grade Gifted English - Fall 2022

Readings will be divided into separate learning units. All texts will be provided for each student. You will not have to purchase any texts unless you would like to own your own copy. Supplemental readings will be added and provided within each unit. Each unit will also incorporate various forms of writing.

*The English State Test will be given at the end of the semester. It will consist of a timed writing prompt and multiple-choice questions based on cold reads. Students must pass the English State Test in order to graduate.

I started attending DeSoto Central when it first opened its doors when I was only in 4th grade. I was enrolled at DeSoto Central until I graduated in 2008. After I graduated, I moved to Columbus, MS where I attended Mississippi University for Women for 4 years and loved every minute of it! After graduation, I moved to Starkville, MS where I was a 6th grade English teacher at Armstrong Middle School. I moved back to DeSoto County and DeSoto Central after my first year of teaching in Starkville. Teaching 9th and 10th grade English is what I have been doing ever since. 

 

 

Sign up for student tutoring! Student tutors meet every Tuesday afternoon from 3:45 to 4:45 to offer help to students who need help in different areas of learning. It is open to all students!
