Teacher Bio

I have a Bachelor's degree in secondary English education from Mississippi State University and a Master's degree in elementary education/curriculum and instruction from the University of Mississippi. I am also an ACT-certified educator in English.

Welcome

Welcome to my senior English, AP Literature, or English ACT class.

I feel very fortunate to be a part of DCHS.  I began my educational career in 1992 at Starkville High School teaching 12th grade English during the summer session before moving to Horn Lake Middle school where I taught 7th and 8th grade English and literature and also served as a member of the discipline committee as well as a drama teacher, a Beta Club sponsor, and the English department chair.  I transferred to DCHS in 2002 where I have taught 8th, 9th, and 11th grade English, public speaking, drama, and, as of 2006, returned to my first love, senior English and AP Literature.  In addition to teaching my classes, I serve as the English department chair, the graduation contact for all students and parents, a senior class sponsor, and the ACT site test coordinator.
